Making this quilt really helped me through so many things over the last two years. This was really and truly stitched with love and I can only pray that God will bless the household these pieces go to the same way He blessed me.

Almost Raffle Time!!!
For all the faithful followers I am so sorry it has been so long since I posted anything about the quilt. We had Strep going through the house and then another flu like bug this weekend. We are blessed that Ben remains untouched by both!!! A fundraiser is coming up this weekend in phoenix AZ and the quilt will be a part of it. It will be available to be viewed and raffle tickets will remain on sale until the Raffle date. I am exicted for the lucky winner and Thank you to everyone who has already purchased tickets!!!!

IT'S FINISHED!!!!
Yesterday I was able to take the day off work and be at my parent's house. Aunt Carol, Uncle Tim, Emily and Hunter all came to visit. For those of you who don't know my Aunt Carol is the founder of Global Health Training. We were able to go together to the Graber's Quilting Shop which is the shop that belongs to the mennonite family that is doing all the quilting. When we got to the shop they had the most wonderful news. The quilt was almost finished!!!! I had been expecting to pick it up in a few weeks and Aunt Carol and I both were just astounded and praising of our loving Jesus for getting the quilt done on the very day we got to come to see it together. What a blessing and wonderful confirmation that the Lord has plans for this quilt. It just makes me that much happier for the lucky winner!! As you can see from the pictures the girls finished the last of the binding while we waited. It was fun watching them work and you can see from the pictures that the detailing of their work is wonderful!! I will be coming in October to Phoenix to a fund raiser for Global Health Training so that the quilt can be viewed so let you friends know so that they can come see it!!

I love the detailing on the quilt. My mom helped me pick out the design for the quilting and so her skill and expertise was so helpful. Thank you Mom!!!!

All The Pieces Are Done!!
I cannot believe that I am finished with all the pieces. I want to thank everyone who got me to this point!! I also want to thank everyone who already have bought tickets and helped me on the way to doing something great for Global Health Training. Don't forget that one picture is missing until my Mom gets me the picture for August's Piece. I will post it as soon as I can for you.
I am already anticipating the top being pieced together so you can all get a good idea of what the quilt will look like. I would love it if when you read this if you would take a few minutes to either email the link to some of your friends or to post it on Facebook or Myspace!!!

EXCITING NEWS!!
I spent this last weekend with my parents and got to start the next big step with the quilt. My mom and I went to a local Menonite quilting store to see about having the pieces quilted. It was such a fun time with my mom! She knows her stuff about quilting and I found myself just nodding along while she and Mrs. Graber worked out exactly how much fabric was needed for the piece work, the sashing, the edging. All things I really know nothing about!! Glad mom was there to help out. We picked out three beautiful fabrics to go into the quilt. A beautiful light green color, a rich dark green, and a simple ivory pattern. We discussed the design of the quilt and Mrs. Graber even drew a sketch to outline the idea of the quilt!!!
I left eleven of the twelve pieces with Mrs. Graber so her quilting group could begin piecing together the top of the quilt. Like a nut I forgot to take a picture of the piece for August and so it will be early next week before I can post it for you. I will also be finishing up piece number twelve and mailing it to my Mom this week so she can take it to Mrs. Graber. I will also have my Mom try to take a picture of the sketch of the design so you can get an idea of what it will be like. The finished Quilt should be about 60 inches by 80 inches so it will be a pretty good size.
The women of the Summersville Menonite Church will be hand quilting the quilt and my Mom and I were able to see some of there work and it is just exquisite. We asked them to put a patch on the back so there is some record of it being quilted by the Menonites. I will be posting some more pictures soon. Mom will go and taqke a picture as soon as the top has been assembled and I can't wait to share more with you!!
Please take note of my previous post in regards to the date of the raffle. I had to adjust it so that the quilters would have time to finish before the raffle.

Just a Little Bit Longer!!!
I hate to do it but I will have to extend the raffle date until November 30th!! I have started the quilting process and the quilting group will need more time then I originally anticipated so the date will have to be moved!! I PROMISE it will be worth the wait! If you have already purchased a ticket and need more info please feel free to email me at fourbeardens@hotmail.com.

All In A Day's Work
I can't believe that just two short days ago it was beautiful, sunny, and warm. 83 degrees with daffodils everywhere and these particular trees I love that are blooming all over with the most beautiful white flowers ( I think they are dogwoods) . Then today it was horribly cold and grey and it started SNOWING!!! Well I sat cuddled in a blanket all day and got a good chunk of stitches done on the august piece and finding myself wishing it really was august. I wanted to post another picture to show just how much I got done. So here it is!! ~*~*~Jamie*~*~*~

Excitement!!
I have a three day weekend and I am so happy to be able to get some serious stitches in. I have been so busy with getting settled in our new place & also with my new job that it has been very crazy trying to make some good time to stitch. Even though I have several months before the Raffle drawing I am feeling the pressure to be finished with the pieces. Here is a picture of piece 11 which is August!

Getting There
I feel the last couple of months I have had things that have stopped me from stitching as much as I have wanted too. I am so close to being done with the cross-stitching and I am anxious now to start the actual quilting stage!!
We moved!! Not that I didn't LOVE living with my parents for the time we needed too, but we are also happy to be back in our own space and really feel that this move is like our lives starting up again!! My husband and I started a new jobs. I started a part-time job in banking and it was a hard decision because we felt it was necessary to do and that the Lord was leading us there but I was nervous about putting Ben (my son) in daycare because of his immune system deficeincies due to his Leukemia. But God is good and he hand-picked a great sitter for us and so far it is all working out great!
All of this does mean less time for sewing so I expect the final two pieces to take a little bit longer than the rest I already completed! I know I will finish them and I am excited to be able to start sharing pictures of the quilting process if possible. I will not be doing the quilting myself so I hope it works out that I can take several pictures of the quilt during that part of it!
Thank everyone for keeping up and for all your encouraging words and support!
